Luke founded FGS in 2012. Luke is responsible for delivery of the strategic, operational and commercial milestones while continuing to nurture a culture of innovation and excellence. Luke’s diverse experience across field biology, science and operations management is crucial in driving innovative ideas into commercial outcomes.

Nik Zairidin

Chief Financial Officer

B Comm; M Comm; G Dip. (Finsia)

Nik joined FGS in 2020. He is responsible for the company’s financial and management reporting, treasury, investor relations and governance. Nik has over 15 years of investment banking, corporate finance advisory and investments experience across Australia and Asia including roles with Religare Capital Markets, UBS and Ernst & Young.

David Adams

Business Development


David joined FGS in 2018. He is responsible for business development and governance, including building and maintaining relationships with waste suppliers, partners and customers. David is a qualified accountant and governance professional with over 25 years experience in executive leadership and management roles in publicly listed and private companies within the technology and food service sectors.

Sofia Katzin

Research Lead and Food Technologist

B Food Science and Technology (Hons)

Sofia joined FGS in 2019 and leads research and food nutrition at FGS. Sofia works on maximising nutrient availability in poor nutrient substrates such as food and animal waste in order to improve BSF larvae growth, protein yield and food conversion rates. Sofia has a strong background and knowledge in food composition and nutrition, including laboratory experience.

A decorated and seasoned global executive, 20 year tenure as Group CEO at RAC WA. Terry is passionate about building solid business foundations focused on branding, culture, safety and innovation. Terry is currently a Non-Executive Director of HCF and Adjunct Professor of Curtin Business School.

Sam McConkey

Board Member

B Comm, B Law and MBA (Wharton)

Experienced tech executive with expertise in scaling up early and mid stage ventures. Sam is the co-founder of Bare, one of the fastest growing tech companies in Australia. He was previously the COO of RateIt and the COO of Sidekicker, a HR tech platform now majority owned by SEEK.
