A sustainable alternative to fishmeal in Barramundi feeds

A study using our FutureProtein has been published in the academic journal Biology (Basel).

Researchers from Curtin University examined the impact of substituting fishmeal protein and fish oil with FGS’s FutureProtein and FutureOil on Barramundi aquaculture.

Their results confirmed successful substitution of 30% fishmeal and fish oil with BSF (oil and protein) without compromising Barramundi growth.

Additionally, BSF diets improved bactericidal activity, immune-related cytokine expression, and mucin cells in the gut and skin, indicating enhanced barramundi immunity.
